Kim Koster, M.D.
Dr. Koster received his Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health (Administration) from the University of Kansas before graduating from the University of Kansas, School of Medicine in 1991. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where he was Chief Resident, and his subspecialty training in pediatric anesthesia at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dr. Koster then served four years at Wilford Hall where he held a number of positions including Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia and Assistant Chairman for Clinical Services. He also served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology for the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland. After leaving the military, Dr. Koster founded Pediatric Anesthesia Associates and served as president of the group until he joined Pediatric Anesthesia Consultants of San Antonio where he served as director until 2012. Dr. Koster has served in various leadership positions at Methodist Children’s Hospital, including Chief of Staff. He also served on the board of Texas Institute of Medicine and Surgery. He joined Tejas Anesthesia in 2016. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio and serves on the Clinical Review Committee at Methodist Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Koster is board certified in anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, Bexar County Medical Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
